Holidays During Term Time

Family holidays should not be taken during term time.

Schools are only able to authorise leave of absence in exceptional circumstances.

Requests must be made by booking a meeting with Mrs Rai or Mr Gardner. We will discuss the Exceptional Leave Request Form in the meeting.

We understand that holidays are expensive and term-time travel can feel financially tempting, but even short absences can create learning gaps that are difficult to recover from – particularly in secondary school where lessons build step by step.

National guidance states that schools must consider a penalty notice where there are 10 sessions (5 days) of unauthorised absence within 10 school weeks.

Because family time matters.
