Religious Education

Religious Education at Castle Mead Academy is centred around learning from religion and improving our ability to understand one another. Scholars will get to explore the world around them through the lens of both religious and non-religious viewpoints and beliefs. Scholars will get to study big ideas around religion such as what it means to be religious in the 21st century, how we express our beliefs and ideas today and ultimate, unanswerable questions about the world, life and creation. Religious Education aims to explore the ideas of culture, belief, values and identity through examples in modern society. As a result of this, scholars will be able to articulate their beliefs on a range of issues and ideas, and compare viewpoints within their own beliefs and with the beliefs of others, in order to become successful scholars who have an understanding of their whole self.
